Fasting for losing weight isn't my favorite subject.

In the past, I pretty much thought it an unsafe way to diet.

I thought the same of colon cleansing but I was wrong about some forms of cleansing.

We'll discuss colon cleansing in later topic covered.

”What's...Fasting?”

Fasting to lose weight is a body cleansing procedure during which food is restricted and only liquids are ingested.

Nearly every religion on the planet has used "Fasting" as a means of cleansing the soul.

Well, maybe spending days even weeks without food can bring health and wellness to ones body.

However, I am inclined to believe it creates starvation.

Not a time for spiritual reflection.

Many people believe fasting to lose weight is safe and cleanses the body of toxins.

When in fact we have organs like or kidneys and liver they work 24/7 doing just that.

Pro and cons of:

Fasting for Losing Weight

Pros:

  • Lose water weight fast
  • Allowed to eat raw foods
  • Flush toxins from the body if a filtered water fast
  • In 4 days time if you continue you will feel less hungry

  • Fasting every other day can help you lose weight

  • Non-fasting days you can eat well but not stupid, still drop weight
  • Reduces the risk of heart disease if done 2 or 3 times/month
  • If done 2 or 3 times/monthly can waylay Alzheimer's Disease

Cons:

  • Very unstable way of losing weight
  • You usually gain all the weight back
  • You lose muscle instead of fat, not an easy way to lose weight
  • Extreme diets like this are hard to maintain
  • When dieting this way gained weight becomes stored fat due to slowed metabolism
  • Once you stop fasting you'll begin binge eating because your body is depleted in vitamins and minerals
  • There's no scientific evidence that fasting detoxifies the body
  • Fasting for longer than 2 or 3 days at a time can be harmful
  • Huge loss of vitamins and minerals if the fast is extended
  • Fasting can lead to: dizziness, nausea, fainting, severe fatigue, constipation, dehydration, cold intolerance, gallstones and even DEATH!!

Deciding to drop lbs this way will take organization so, think about it, write the diet down on paper.

Post them everywhere in your home,in you auto, in fact get ready to "DO the Diet" the right way.

The right way is: "On/Off"

Decide on 1 day on next day off the fasting, or 1 day on 2 days off.

Just never have more days on than off.

On=fasting Off=Non-fasting

Otherwise you could lose a lot more than a few pounds of unwanted weight.
